CHS MISSION STATEMENT
The Comstock Historical Society exists to promote community interest and involvement in the broad economic history of the Comstock Lode and Virginia City, Nevada.The historical focus is on both the Virginia and Truckee and Carson and Colorado Railroads.
This will be accomplished through monthly meetings featuring debates and lectures with a focus on the past, present and future railroads of Virginia City, Nevada.
Increasing tourism in the Comstock region is a goal, as well as bringing an interest in railroading to younger audiences than those served by traditional historic groups.
COMSTOCK CAMERA CLUB, TOO!
This website is also the video sharing location for the Comstock Camera Club. We are a very small group of video-heads who work together to do multiple-camera Hi-Def shoots of Virginia City events. We then allow each other to use each other's video in our own individual productions. If you are a member of the Comstock Camera Club, please visit the Club Homepage.
If you are a talented owner of a quality prosumer Hi-Def videocamera, we occasionally take new members into the club. Contact jim@comstockhistoricalsociety.com if you'd like to join, we are not looking to expand the group but will consider all applicants. We assign each other non-exclusive licenses to the video from shoots we work together on, on a shoot-by-shoot basis.
